Halloween Costumes

Everything I dreamed of this year for Halloween costumes was crushed.  The blow?  Brooklynn is old enough to have an opinion and she happens to have a very strong one.  So off I went looking for Brooklynn her Minnie Mouse costume… However, all I could find were really expensive, cheap looking, Minnie Mouse dresses. So I decided I could sew something better. Here she is in all her glory.

Emmett, however, was all my choice still.  I couldn't resist but to have them match somehow.  Isn't he so cute?  He's Mickey Mouse.

After I picked up the supplies to make their costumes (and let me tell you finding Emmett’s was a nightmare) the next blow came. We found out about Todd's brain tumor. With his brain surgery I was busy, stressed and no longer wanting to make them their costumes. Thankfully, Grandma Frazee offered and they turned out great!!! Love em and so do the kids.

The kids made their debut in their costumes on Friday at Traverse City's Down Town Halloween Walk. It was cold and windy so Brooklynn had to wear a winter coat and Emmett needed to be bundled and protected from the wind (thankfully he slept in his car seat) After doing a little trick-or-treating we found our way into Simply Cupcakes for treats there.

Swimming Lessons at Great Wolf Lodge

Brooklynn loves the water park at Great Wolf Lodge especially the hot tub. We have been taking her to swimming lessons there for the last 4 weeks. Todd went with us once so I took our camera but really none of the pictures turned out because the camera was on the wrong setting.  Grandpa Frentner and Auntie Tori took Brooklynn to about 4 of her swimming lessons for us - thank you thank you!!! I think she prefers know she prefers them to take her. We have this week off then we start up again next week. I'm looking forward to more fun at Great Wolf Lodge.

Just one reason she likes Papa to take her... he buys yummy snacks

Rainy Day Fun

While Todd was in the hospital I was able to stay home one morning and play outside with Miss Brooklynn.

She now is obsessed with rainbows. She looks outside every morning

Jumping in puddles in the driveway together

We had a great time

Enjoying the wonderful Michigan weather this week

This week we are doing our best to enjoy this wonder Michigan fall weather. Yesterday, we ran around Pahl's Pumpkin Patch enjoying the corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides and pumpkin patch although we could not get Brooklynn to pick out a pumpkin. Today, we had fun at Hoxsie's Farm Market picking apples (bad bad year for apples at Hoxsie's), selecting pumpkins in the pumpkin patch for the kids, playing in the hay stack in the big red barn and of course hitting up seasonal goodies from their bakery. Thank you Grandpa Frazee for the pumpkins and goodies.
