Holiday Leggings

I made Miss B some leggings to wear during the Christmas season.  Love them and they were so easy and cheap I plan to make a couple more pairs in different patterns (on my way to Kohl's after I post this to get more).

She let me put them on her today and take a picture when she got home from her date with Great Grandpa and Grandma Compton (Brooklynn called Poppa this morning and asked him to take her on a date to Burger King).

I may even get a little crazy and make Brooklynn leggings and Emmett matching sleeves to wear to Church someday.

Update Tuesday 11/23/2010

Brooklynn just loves her new leg warmers Mommy made last night. I can't get her out of them today. After nap she put on a pair that are red and green striped. When she went with her Daddy to get his hair cut and to let her pick out her own leg warmer supplies she refused to take them off. This is how she went out with Daddy tonight.

Grandma Ju Ju will be so proud (she has all her Christmas decorations up already... guess she forgot about the 28 people coming for Thanksgiving this week)

First Hair Cut

About two months ago we took Brooklynn to Sharkey's Cuts for Kids for her first haircut and mini-cure.  I had been putting off getting her haircut because I did not want her to lose that baby-look. The haircut did make her look older but super cute too.

First she got to pick out where she wanted to get her hair cut... the barbie jeep of course

a little fun while waiting

second she got her pre-haircut shampoo with chocolate smelling shampoo and conditioner

and style

all done... off to get my nails done too

She do a good job Brooklynn?

I know we took a lot of pictures but it was her first time to a salon and she was having just a great time.

Emmett

Can you believe that our little man is going to be 4 months old tomorrow???

Thanksgiving Craft

We invited some friends over and did a Thanksgiving craft with them. We traced the kids' hands and made felt turkeys out of them on long sleeved shirts.

Emmett's hand looks big in the picture I took but I'm sure it will look better in pictures I share from Thanksgiving at G&G Frentners.

While we finished up the shirts...

the kids played hard... this is them taking a break.

This project is super cheap if you're interested in doing it. The shirts were $3 from Target and the felt was .25 per piece at Walmart. We were all able to use the one piece of brown felt that I had gotten. And we used washable fabric glue that I already had. I think the glue is about $2 at Joanns or Walmart.

I don't know the best way to do it but what I had us do was trace the kids' hand onto a piece of printer paper, then we cut the hand print out and pin it to the brown felt. We then glued the pieces onto the shirts. After we were all done I did sew around so that I knew they would hold to the test of 2 year olds and if I know Brooklynn we will wash and wear a few times over..but they would be fine with the glue only.

Happy Halloween

My goal is to get some Halloween pictures up now that both kids are feeling better. We took Brooklynn and Emmett trick-or-treating down town on Friday, to Theo's 2nd birthday Halloween party on Saturday, and on Sunday to G&G Frentners Halloween party, trick-or-treating in Kingsley and to a churches Halloween party. Busy but fun fill weekend. Brooklynn loved Halloween. She was great to take trick-or-treating. She would say "trick or treat" and then "thank you" every time :)  My favorite part was when she wanted to run from house to house to get more candy. And the best part... she never asked for a single piece until the next morning when she was all over it. Had Emmett not had a cold we would have went to the Children's Museum too but maybe next year.

I already posted the pictures from the downtown Halloween walk so here are a few from Halloween...
